The Poison in Beauty

Poison in beauty

Phantasmal Poison Frog Epipedobates tricolor; wow what a mouth full, but that is their official name. I find them quite beautiful. They are commonly called Dart frogs.

One other relative species is called Dendrobatids that include some of the most toxic animals on Earth. The two-inch-long (five-centimeter-long) golden poison dart frog has enough venom to kill 10 grown men. Indigenous Emberá people of Colombia have used its powerful venom for centuries to tip their blowgun darts when hunting, hence the genus’ common name.

You may be wondering why I am discussing these beauties, well for the justification of making a point (bloggers and writers have that goal, in my opinion).

The beauty of the Dart frogs color makes it attractive. The size hiding the malevolent nature of its existence. Its origin and purpose masked by the meek stature of the amphibian. Like humans, we are normally judged by how we appear, how we carry ourselves, how we speak and relate to others. At a distance the judging of one’s character is tricky. Get closer and some features can be evident. But its true nature? It can only be known by researching. Investigating and inventively unearthing relative facts to the purpose.

The correlation? Seek and observe then move with stealth, you wont know the venom’s effectivity until it sinks and paralyzes you or worse, kill you. Don’t be taken by sheer beauty or attractiveness. Use your bodies other senses, eyes are the initial surveyor don’t make it the decision maker. Enjoy your weekend.

Floating to Unity

Standard

This is my shot and if you can ignore the exit sign at the back, it will make me fell a lot better.

Getting to the mood, have you felt the floating feeling? The liberation of being free, sans regard as the French says, to do without regards. Fleeting with flow where the wave of current takes you. No use to struggle, why bother? Its nice to go along where life carries you. But then to where, there will be time this scene agrees with you then again there will be a stage when it does not. When doesn’t it agree with you, to be floating and carefree? I want that!

And I do have the answer. The stage when you dont want to be free and floating is when the tide brings you further away from your group, your family, friends and the community. The place that makes you YOU! It’s the place where you are already expressing yourself and the community knows you and loves you irregardless. So you say there’s limitation to your freedom, then take it in stages. There’s nothing big that couldn’t be broken if you started little 😉

So go float, float into unity. Fun begins in numbers!

“Learn to Weep” – Pope Francis

Standard

image

I was chatting with my best friend and was solicited with advice,  with me feeling tired and melancholy, it hit home. The story goes, It was her birthday when she paid a visit to University of Sto. Thomas, her alma mater, to witness the visit of Pope Francis in the Philippines. She was moved by the whole experience, just by being there.

There was an encounter between Pope Francis and a child where the child asked why God let bad things happen to innocent children. Quoting his response from the heart came “Only when the heart is able to ask the question and weep can we understand something.”

Whenever something bad happens in our lives we seek advise, people who console us until we feel better or found justification to the mortifying feeling we are experiencing. There are tag replies to, say, a loss of a love one, e.g. ‘We are destined to be gone, its just time is the essence.’ For me, when I had lost my loved one, I cried not because they are gone but because I don’t know how to survive without them. I’ll be lost.

Learn how to weep, cry with your heart for after the tears all will be clear.

Gong Xi Fa Cai or Gong Hey Fat Choy! Happy Chinese New Year! Got you there didn’t I? I will dedicate a blog for that in the days to come but as for now I would like to give the heart the spotlight.
I mean the heart as the embodiment of love, not as the muscular organ keeping us alive. Going back to my rose colored glasses, where’s dinner going to be? Planning for flowers or nervously waiting for them? Hoping the hints we sent his way gave clear signals. Nevertheless a piece of advise to the expectant she-half, be glad with the greeting then you will be jubilant if there are more. To the not-so-romantic he-half, come on! Hallmark made billions on this day alone, make them one card richer today! Ir flowers, or dinner? Are you the practical one? Well then get a mutual fund, put it in her name and jot down projected interest. There is effort in the plan. Speaking of plan why don’t you get a couple shirt? Affordable, no hassle, unique, what else can you ask for?

And I mean now, there might be time for you yet 🙂 Happy Hearts Day!
